This workshop begins at Yarrila Arts and Museum (YAM), where participants will explore teamLab’s immersive exhibition Flower’s and People a Whole Year per Hour and reflect on its themes of interconnectedness, fragility, and the essential role of flowers in our ecosystem.
The workshop then moves outdoors to the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden (weather permitting), where participants will gather natural materials and take inspiration from the garden’s natural surroundings. Using a mix of found organic materials, inks, and selected man-made tools, participants will experiment with mark-making and intuitive drawing techniques that respond to the textures, patterns, and life forms found in the gardens.
This workshop encourages playful experimentation, close observation, and a deeper connection with the natural world. Flowers, a central motif in both teamLab’s work and the future of our planet, will be a key focus for the expressive drawing.
