As a YAM Young Creative, you will work alongside museum and gallery staff to gain both personal and professional insights into the art world AND contribute to the development of youth programs that advocate for and inspire other young people in the region.

As a successful participant, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with other local youth creatives
  • Experience the studios and working environment of practising artists
  • Gain insights into how artists sustain their practice including conceptual development of work, exhibiting and selling work, marketing and running their own creative businesses.
  • Experience back of house operations at the museum and gallery including install and de-install of major exhibitions, packing works, maintaining the collection including digitisation of work, gallery marketing, arts and cultural programming, and meeting artists face to face.
  • Work in a team environment to develop youth focused programs, create audio tours and help in running events whilst being paid at the same time

YAM Young Creatives will need to commit to meetings twice a month (once virtually and once face to face) for 12 months until November/December 2024.

Get involved in this incredible opportunity! Help shape the way Coffs Harbour’s youth engages with art and gain real life experience in the artworld at the same time.

There is no cost involved to join this program, however the program is competitive, and applicants will need to formally apply.

Applications close: Friday 10 November 2023
